Carelink (Meals on Wheels)
Our main Sunday service is 10:30am
Mill Street, Ulverston, Cumbria, LA12 7EB

carelinkmagazineadCarelink is an Emmanuel Christian Centre community service which aims to demonstrate love through practical means. This is mainly by the provision of meals and practical help in the running of a home. It is the hope and passion of the Carelink team that users of the service may discover how valued they are, and that real Christianity involves service and care.

The four main areas of provision which are currently in service are:

1) Community meals which recently replaced the ‘meals on wheels’ scheme run by the local council. Freshly prepared lunches are delivered piping hot directly to a customer’s home for a nominal fee. This is a vital service, especially for the vulnerable and alone, which not only provides food but is also delivered by a friendly face.

2) Free meal service which is offered to anyone in our community experiencing a short term crisis such as an illness or financial hardship. We don’t have a set criteria or means testing and we endeavour to serve anyone who may benefit from this service.

3) Cooking courses in association with the Barrow in Furness Foodbank. These courses are designed to introduce basic cooking principles and nutritious recipes for those new to cooking or those on a budget.

4) Foodbank voucher scheme which provides a 3 day emergency food supply for those in crisis.
